Stroggilo (pronounced Strongylo) is next to the small island of Arki. Arki (or Arkoi) is actually a small group of islands and the name of the biggest one – Arki – has given its name to the whole archipelago. Arki is North of Lipsi and North East of Patmos in the North Dodecanese, Greece.
The nearest island to Stroggilo – just 50m away at its closest point – is Marathi. This small island is also part of the archipelago and is well known for its sheltered anchorage, sandy beach and crystal clear water. In Summer there is also a choice of three tavernas.
The island of Stroggilo itself has three sandy beaches and an anchorage that is sheltered from the Meltemi (the strong wind that blows from the North during the Summer). This is an ideal getaway for someone who loves sailing. There is an old ruined house and a well (ground water).
The island is 800m long and 470m wide (maximum). The land is buildable subject to the usual planning restraints.
Please note: Our Greek partner in Leros has seen the papers confirming ownership of the island which has been in the same family for several generations.
