Golden Visa in Greece — changes to the rules 2024

If you are a non-EU citizen and thinking of investing in property on Leros in order to take advantage of the benefits of the Golden Visa, you need to be aware that the rules are changing.

Under the current rules it is possible to purchase a property on Leros worth at least 250,000e in order to qualify but under the new rules your property purchase must be worth at least 800,000e. (There are a few exceptions).

These changes were recently approved by parliament and there is a deadline for purchases under the current rules. In order for your purchase to qualify under the current rules, you must have officially started the process by 31 August 2024 and you must complete the purchase by 31 December 2024. (There are some safeguards in case of delays.)
